The quickest way to choose a Bolt.new alternative is to ask what your app has to remember. If it needs user accounts, a shared database or a live address on the web, Bolt.new does all of that in one place and AI4Chat's Text to App does none of it. If the answer is "nothing beyond this browser", such as a calculator, a quiz or a landing page, Text to App writes it as three plain files on a flat monthly plan, without a token budget to watch.

What Bolt.new does that Text to App doesn't
Bolt.new is a bigger product, and it is fair to list what that buys you. Its homepage describes Bolt Cloud as backend infrastructure with hosting, databases and integrations, and says Bolt routes each task to a model, balancing quality and cost. Even the free plan includes website hosting and unlimited databases, according to its pricing page (checked 7 November 2026).
Bolt.new features Text to App does not have
- Publishing to a live address in seconds, with a free .bolt.host domain
- Custom domains on the Pro plan
- Databases, with a choice of database provider on Pro
- Team plans with shared billing and admin controls
- Direct code edits in Code view that use no tokens
What you get with Text to App instead
Text to App is small on purpose. You describe the app, it writes index.html, styles.css and script.js, and the page runs in a preview beside the code. You change it by chatting, by editing the files, or with a Fix Errors button that hands any console errors back to the chat. When it works, you download a ZIP and put it wherever you like. Our AI app builder guide walks through a full build of a bill splitter, message by message.
What you get in exchange for less power is less to manage: no framework, no backend, no hosting limit that takes your site offline, and no badge to pay to remove. The builder also sits in the same plan as the image generator, text to speech and File Chat, so a launch page, its hero image and its voiceover can all come out of one subscription.
Tokens or a flat plan: how the two charge
| Plan | Price a month | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Bolt Free | $0 | 300K tokens a day, 1M a month, hosting with Bolt branding |
| Bolt Pro | $25 | From 10M tokens a month, no daily limit, custom domains, unused tokens roll over |
| Bolt Teams | $30 per member | Pro plus central billing and admin controls |
| Bolt Enterprise | Custom | SSO, audit logs, dedicated support |
| AI4Chat Unlimited | Set by country, shown before you pay | Text to App plus every other AI4Chat tool; 7-day free trial |
Bolt says yearly billing saves up to 28 percent. Bolt prices from bolt.new/pricing, checked 7 November 2026.
The difference that matters day to day is how usage is counted. Bolt's support docs explain that most token use comes from Bolt reading and syncing your project files, so larger projects use more tokens per message. On the free plan, tokens reset on the 1st of each month and the 300K daily limit resets every day without carrying over. Paid plans reset on your renewal date, and unused tokens roll over for two months. AI4Chat Unlimited works differently: builds draw on the plan's monthly allowance of 100,000 credits, shared with the other tools. A first build costs ten times a chat message with the chosen model, each change costs one, and project size doesn't change the price.
Bolt.new free plan limits worth knowing
Bolt's free plan is generous for trying things, and it does include hosting, which Text to App never will. Before you build something public on it, note what the pricing and support pages list: a "Made in Bolt" badge on free sites, the .bolt.host address only (custom domains are Pro), up to 333K web requests, a 10MB upload limit, and the 300K daily token cap. If a free site hits its hosting limit, Bolt's hosting docs say it stops displaying publicly until usage resets at the next billing cycle.

Questions people ask
Is Bolt.new free?
Bolt.new has a free plan with 300K tokens a day and 1M a month, plus hosting on a .bolt.host address with Bolt branding. Pro starts at $25 a month, according to its pricing page on 7 November 2026.
What is the best free Bolt.new alternative?
For full-stack apps, compare the free tiers of other full-stack builders. For a single page or small tool, AI4Chat Text to App opens on a free account and is usable during the 7-day free trial of Unlimited.
Can Text to App host my site like Bolt.new does?
No. Text to App gives you a ZIP of plain files. Upload them to any static host, or open index.html on your own computer.
Why do my Bolt.new tokens run out so fast?
Bolt's docs say most token use comes from reading and syncing your project files, so bigger projects cost more per message. Keeping prompts focused and making small edits by hand in Code view helps.
Can I move a Bolt.new project into Text to App?
There is no import. If the Bolt project is a simple front-end page, describe it section by section in Text to App and paste your real copy into the first prompt.
