Where Lovable is clearly better
Lovable is built to take an idea all the way to a running product, and its own pages back that up. It hosts your app with SSL. Its built-in backend, which it says uses Supabase's open-source foundation, gives a project a database, user accounts, file storage, realtime updates and server functions, and Lovable can switch it on when a feature you ask for needs it. It advertises payments with local currencies and tax handling in more than 200 countries and territories.
It is also further along for teams and developers. Workspaces have unlimited members and share one credit pool. Two-way Git sync with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket means a developer can work in their own editor while you keep prompting, and the changes meet in the middle. A Plan mode lets you think through a change before any code is touched. None of that exists in Text to App, and we're not going to pretend a ZIP download is the same thing.
Where Text to App is the simpler choice
Text to App is built to be simple. It writes three readable files with no framework and no build step, so the output opens by double-clicking index.html and can go on any static host. There's no backend to pause, no database to size and no hosting bill that grows with traffic, because there's nothing running on our side once you've downloaded it.
The price model is simpler too. AI4Chat Unlimited is one monthly price with a 100,000-credit monthly allowance shared across every tool. A first build costs ten chat messages' worth and each change costs one, whatever the size of the request. And the same plan covers the image generator, text to speech, humanizer and the rest of the tools in the account, which matters if you were going to pay for those separately anyway.
How Lovable charges compared with a flat plan
Lovable bills in credits. Plan mode costs 1 credit per message plus any research it runs. Build mode is usage-based, so a small edit costs less than a large generation. Its pricing page gives examples, charted below. The free plan includes 5 build credits a day up to 30 a month, 20 Cloud credits a month for hosting and the backend, and 4 credits for AI features inside your app. Paid Pro and Business plans come in tiers from 100 to 10,000 credits a month, and annual billing gives two months free.

We couldn't quote Lovable's dollar prices from its own site: the plan cards on lovable.dev/pricing didn't show tier prices when we checked on 7 November 2026, and the docs point to the billing page inside an account. Lindy's 2026 roundup of AI app builders lists Lovable Pro from $25 a month; treat that as second-hand until your own Lovable billing page shows it. Rebuilding a simple Lovable page in Text to App
There is no import from Lovable. If you have a simple Lovable site with no backend, such as a one-page launch site, and want it as plain files, rebuild it from a description rather than trying to paste code across.
What to carry over
- List the sections in order, top to bottom, and describe each in one sentence
- Copy your real headlines and body text into the first prompt so nothing is invented
- Name your colours and font, or describe the feel ("dark navy, lots of white space")
- Ask for each interactive part separately after the first build: a menu, a form, a tab set
- Swap the Unsplash photos the generator links for your own before publishing
